Sensitive skin: what it means
Stinging when you apply a new product, redness that flares up for no clear reason, reactions to fragrance, heat, or even cold air. Sensitive skin has a weakened barrier that lets irritants in and moisture out. The right approach is minimal, fragrance-free, and barrier-first. Less is genuinely more here.
What to look for in products
- Centella Asiatica and Madecassoside for calming + barrier repair
- Heartleaf to soothe redness
- Panthenol for healing support
- Propolis for gentle antibacterial + nourishing benefits
- Ceramide-rich, fragrance-free moisturizers
- Mineral SPF (zinc oxide) over chemical filters
What to avoid
- Anything with added fragrance or essential oils
- Alcohol denat in any step
- Physical exfoliants (scrubs, brushes, mitts)
- High-strength acids and retinoids (introduce extremely slowly if at all)
- Too many active ingredients layered at once
Your K-beauty routine
AM: Cream or balm cleanser (skip the foam step if skin is reactive), Centella toner, calming essence, ceramide moisturizer, mineral SPF.
