Oil-Based Cleansers

A Korean oil cleanser is a cleansing oil that melts sunscreen, makeup and excess sebum, then rinses off with water. It is usually the first half of a double cleanse. This collection is mostly cleansing oils, with a few gel and bubble cleansers.

Brands include Ma:nyo, Haruharu Wonder, SKIN1004, Numbuzin, Mommy Care, Hanskin, Dr. Ceuracle and Omitted. Examples are the Ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil, the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil, the Su:m37 Skin Saver Essential Clear Cleansing Oil, the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil and the Omitted Fresh Lime Pore Clearing Deep Cleansing Oil.

Massage the oil onto dry skin with dry hands, add a little water until it turns milky, then rinse. Follow with a water-based cleanser if you wore sunscreen or makeup. Lighter oils suit oily skin, and richer oils suit dry skin. Double Cleansing: When It Helps, When It Is Too Much explains when the second step is needed.
