Combination skin — what it means

Oily through the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), normal-to-dry on the cheeks — combination skin is basically two skin types asking for different things from one routine. The trick is zone-aware care: lightweight hydration everywhere, with targeted treatments where you actually need them.

What to look for in products

• Niacinamide to balance the T-zone without drying cheeks
• Hyaluronic acid for hydration that won't add weight
• Lightweight water-based essences and gel-creams
• BHA toner pads for spot-use on the T-zone
• Balancing toners (alcohol-free)
• Sheet masks for targeted treatment

What to avoid

• Rich butter-based creams applied all-over
• Harsh AHAs on already-dry cheek areas
• Stripping foam cleansers that dehydrate the whole face
• Skipping moisturizer on the T-zone (it backfires)

Your K-beauty routine

AM: Gentle low-pH cleanser, balancing toner, hydrating essence, lightweight gel moisturizer (add a richer cream on dry cheeks if needed), SPF 50.

PM: Double-cleanse, BHA toner pads on T-zone only, hyaluronic essence, niacinamide ampoule, gel-cream all-over with a richer layer on the cheeks.
