Acne-prone skin: what it means

Recurring breakouts, congestion under the surface, post-acne marks that hang around for weeks. Acne-prone skin needs a routine that treats active breakouts without trashing the barrier in the process. The Korean approach is gentle exfoliation, calming actives, and serious attention to post-acne recovery (because the scars often outlast the spots).

What to look for in products
  • BHA (salicylic acid) 0.5-2% to clear pores from within
  • Centella Asiatica + Madecassoside for inflammation
  • Tea tree for targeted spot care
  • Heartleaf for clarifying without stripping
  • Niacinamide for sebum + post-acne marks

What to avoid
  • Harsh physical scrubs (they spread bacteria + irritate active spots)
  • Heavy comedogenic oils (coconut oil, cocoa butter)
  • Picking or popping (use a pimple patch instead)
  • Stripping your skin with multiple acids at once
  • Skipping moisturizer (dehydrated skin overproduces oil)
Your K-beauty routine

AM: Low-pH gel cleanser, Centella toner, niacinamide essence, lightweight oil-free moisturizer, non-comedogenic SPF 50.

PM: Double-cleanse with a lightweight oil cleanser, BHA toner pads (2-3x a week, not daily), Madecassoside ampoule, snail mucin essence for post-acne marks, gel-cream, pimple patches on active spots overnight.
